Patient bracelet
The safety of our patients is our top priority. The patient bracelet is an important component of our patient safety concept. Together with other measures, it guarantees clear patient identification during the entire hospital stay.
Intended use of the bracelet
All patients receive a patient bracelet during an inpatient stay or an outpatient operation/intervention. It is used during their hospital stay to establish or check their identity at all stages of treatment. The risk of confusion and its consequences should thus be excluded.
The patient bracelet is important during the following treatment steps, for example:
- Performing operations/interventions
- Administration of medicines
- Transfusions of blood and blood products
- Treatment during which the patient is unresponsive
Information on the bracelet
The patient bracelet contains the following data:
- Name, first name
- Date of birth
- Case number (as number, barcode and QR code)
Hygiene information
The patient bracelet is made of a skin-compatible plastic composite material. The bracelet and the imprint are resistant to water and disinfectants.
