UROGYNAECOLOGY
Approximately one in every 4 women experience bladder weakness. Bladder weakness is a major social and hygiene problem for many women. Advances in medicine have enabled our experienced team of specialists to significantly alleviate many of the symptoms of bladder weakness and provide expert care for patients with uterine and bladder prolapse, incontinence and bladder infections.
The precise causes are diagnosed in specialised consultations as well as clinical and, if necessary, instrument-based examinations. Once this has been done, a targeted therapy tailored to the individual patient can be initiated.
The interdisciplinary cooperation between specialists from the fields of gynaecology, urology, proctology, neurology, psychology and physiotherapy enables us to offer our patients comprehensive diagnostics as well as individually tailored, state-of-the-art therapies. We work together with the patient to develop an individual therapy plan. This combines conservative therapies (physiotherapy of the pelvic floor, pessary treatment) with the local application of oestrogen. For urge incontinence, drugs such as anticholinergics, bladder instillations or intravesicular Botox injections have also proven effective. Wherever these conservative approaches are not successful, we carry out a minimally invasive operation.
Generally, basic evaluations such as a conversation with the patient, a gynaecological or urodynamic examination as well as an ultrasound or urine examination are sufficient to detect and treat the bladder problem. If the basic examination is not sufficient, a more complex but painless bladder examination with instruments is required.
